As many of you might already know, apple is making it very difficult to update safari browser from version 5 to version 6 without having to update to Mountain Lion or update to the latest version 10.7.* etc.
After some careful searching, I found a link to Safari6.0.2Lion.pkg on Apple’s website, not to be mistaken with Safari6.0.2Mountain.pkg.

In future, you may obtain URLs fro download by using this command in terminal.app
curl $(strings /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SoftwareUpdate.framework/SoftwareUpdate | grep http://swscan) | grep Safari6
Incase you have already upgraded to the mountain lion version of safari, here is how to downgrade to the lion version and ge safari running again.
Step 1: got to safari under applications folder and right-click, select show package contents
Step 2: delete all files and folders in safari.app
Step 3: open terminal and type the following command: sudo rm -d /Applications/Safari.app
Step 4: go to your hard disk’s root and navigate to this path /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/
You may need to show all hidden files and folders, to do so type this command: defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES into terminal and relaunch Finder, to undo show hidden files, change text YES to NO.
Step 5: Delete the folder called “Safari”
Step 6: install safari from the downloaded file, e.g. Safari6.0.2Lion.pkg
