The title for this post might be misleading to some so I’m going to clear that up right now; this post will show you how to gather all the data that you have uploaded onto facebook‘s servers. This data could be the various photos and images you may have uploaded onto your facebook account over the years.
Note that this will not enable you to delete the data you have uploaded onto facebook‘s servers, it just allows you to make/save a copy of the data onto your home computer. A typical reason for wanting to download this information could be that perhaps your home PC crashed or your laptop/notebook got stolen and you just want all those memory available off-line.
How to do it?
For the lazy ones, simply click on this link to go directly to the page in question. For the rest of you follow these simple steps.
Step One: Log onto your facebook account, preferably with a computer.
Now: Respond to any new messages that have been sent to you, nothing is more annoying than sending someone a message on facebook and having to wait until they are comfortable to respond, so do this now and make whoever sent the message happy.
Step 2: Go to account settings option found at the top right corner of the page, indicated below.
Step 3: locate the “Download a copy of your facebook data” link at the bottom left corner of the page division, as shown on image below.
This page should now appear.
Step 4: Click on the green button labeled “Start My Archive“.
Step 5: Verify that its you by entering your password then, begin the download process.
Hint: you may want to get yourself a proper download accelerator that would enable you to download your memories that much faster. I recommend using orbit downloader, you can download your free version here.
